Welcome to Marist Comprehensive Academy
Students take two categories of examination namely: the Internal examination and External Examinations
These involve the examinations conducted in the school for the students termly for the purpose of Continuous Assessment and Promotion of Students from one class to the other. These include, class exercise, take home assignments, tests, projects and termly examinations.
Examinations are conducted in a very conducive and supervised environment which leaves little or no room for examination malpractice. This creates sense of responsibility and encourages healthy academic competition in our students.
These involve the examinations conducted by external examinations bodies such as WAEC, NECO, JAMB and Ministry of Education. These examinations are in two categories namely: the Junior and Senior categories.
The School registers her students in UB3 (upper Basic 9) for the Basic Education Certificate Examination BECE conducted by the National Examination Council, NECO and that conducted by Examination Development Centre (EDC) of Abia State otherwise called the state BECE.
These examinations serve as basis for qualification and promotion into the Senior Secondary sections.
It should be noted that since inception of these examinations, the WASSCE and SSCE are qualifying Examinations to pursue any course of study in the higher institution of learning.
In these examinations, the performance of our students has been exceptional over the years. None of our students has failed to qualify for any course of his or her choice in the tertiary institution so far.
This is the examination conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for admission into the tertiary institution in Nigeria.
It is worthy of note that the performance of our students in the yearly JAMB conducted UTME has always surpassed the official cut-off mark for university admission. It is also worthy of note that above 90 percent of our students get university offer of admission in not more than two tries.
In 2017 edition of UTME, the school recorded the second highest national score of 335, and in 2018, quite a number of our students scored above 300.
